PhilBoxing.com

CHARLES HUERTA, DEONTAY WILDER & SETH MITCHELL FEATURED ON HARD-HITTING UNDERCARD IN INDIO

September 21, 2010 - Indio, CA- California bragging rights will be on the line on Friday, October 15, when unbeaten Salinas, Calif. star Eloy Perez battles Rialto standout Dominic Salcido in the main event of TeleFutura's "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" from the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in the Palm Springs, Calif. area.

Also hitting the ring for some fall fight action will be Paramount, California's rising featherweight star, Charles Huerta and Coachella's Randy Caballero who own a combined record of 18-1 with 12 knockouts. Those kind of numbers mean the fists will be flying on October 15 at Fantasy Springs.

Up and coming heavyweight stars will also see action with undefeated Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell and 2004 Olympic Bronze Medalist Deontay Wilder featured in separate bouts.

Perez vs. Salcido, a 10-round NABO Junior Lightweight Championship fight which headlines a night of world-class professional boxing, is presented by Golden Boy Promotionsand sponsored by Cerveza Tecate with the main event being presented in association with Thompson Boxing Promotions. Doors open at 6:00pm PT on fight night, the first bell rings at 7:00pm PT and the TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:30pm ET / 8:30pm PT (10:30pm CT).

Tickets, priced at $25, $35 and $45, go on sale on Wednesday, September 22 at 10:00am PT and will be available for purchase at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, by calling (800) 827-2946 or online at www.FantasySprings.net.

NABO Junior Lightweight Champion Eloy "The Prince" Perez (18-0-2, 5 KO's) has been amping up his game more and more since relocating to California from Washington in 2007. With a record of 8-0-1 in the Golden State, the 23-year old Perez has made a statement to the boxing world in 2010 that he's ready for the big time with wins over David Rodela, Gilberto Sanchez Leon and Derrick Campos.

A flashy and entertaining fighter with a warrior's heart, 26-year old Dominic Salcido (18-2, 9 KO's) has long been a Southern California favorite who always gives fans their money's worth. Winner of two of his last three bouts, including a May 2010 victory over previously unbeaten prospect Guillermo Sanchez, Salcido is not about to let his fans down on October 15.

24-year old featherweight prospect Charles Huerta (14-1, 8 KOs) has bounced back in style from his lone pro loss in 2009, winning three in a row, including 2010 victories over Guadalupe De Leon by decision and Jonathan Arias via sixth round knockout. Competing in an eight round bout on October 15, Huerta is looking to continue his winning streak and kick off his fall campaign in style.

Coachella's Randy Caballero (4-0, 4 KO's) has been just as unforgiving to opponents in the professional game as he was in the amateurs, knocking out all four of his opponents in the first round, with three of them unable to make it out of the opening minute. This 2008 U.S. Amateur Champion has built a solid fan base in the Inland Empire, and with his sights set on a featherweight world title, he is sure to add even more followers in the years to come.

A former standout linebacker at Michigan State University, Brandywine, Maryland's Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell (18-0-1, 12 KO's) is giving U.S. fight fans hope that they will soon see a dominant American heavyweight emerge on the championship scene. Coming off of a resounding first round knockout win over Derek Bryant in July, his fifth knockout win his last six fights, Mitchell will look to continue to prove that the American heavyweight is alive and well during the fights at Fantasy Springs.

The lone American medalist from the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Deontay Wilder (11-0, 11 KO's) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, has shown no hitches in his game transitioning from the amateurs to the pros. Wilder has knocked out every man who has entered the ring to face him, with only two making it out of the first round. He will look to continue his knockout streak for the fans at Fantasy Springs in his first professional bout in California.

Opponents for Huerta, Caballero, Mitchell and Wilder will be announced shortly.
