MAYOL-TREJO IN SULAIMAN'S LETTER TO PHILBOXING.COM

PhilBoxing.com

My very dear friends:

As you have been advised, the WBC will celebrate the ?Night of Champions? in the paradisiacal Cancun, Mexico, from January 28 to the 31st coming, at the 5-star Grand Oasis Hotel.

We expect close to one hundred world champions, in what we believe will be the greatest boxing event in the history of our sport with the full program as follows.

January 28. A World WBC title event at the bullring (Plaza de Toros Cancun) with Jorge Arce making a rematch defense of his title with Adonis Rivas, plus one WBC Muaythai title bout, one WBC female championship bout, one WBC Youth championship fight and a 12-round elimination bout of the strawweight division.

January 29. A tour to the most beautiful places of this paradisiacal City of Cancun.

January 30. A golf tournament, beach volleyball tournament, etc, for champions, promoters, managers, commissioners and other people of boxing coming to the celebration.

January 31. Morning: convertible and folkloric trucks parade with all the present champions saluting the people of Cancun, to whom we are showing our support for their tragedy of the Wilma hurricane.

Evening: The great ?Night of Champions? when the WBC and people of the world will render a tribute to all present WBC champions, former great WBC champions and former Mexican world champions.

This ceremony will be for the benefit of the WBC, reason why we are selling tables of 10 chairs with a cost of $10,000 dollars and $5,000 dollars each, which can be sold individually at $1,000 and $500 dollars each seat.

We will have a few tables at $2,000 dollars; a group of 10 friends can get together and buy a 10-chair table at $1,000, $500 or $200 dollars per chair, depending of which you decide.

If there is impossibility for getting together the other 9 friends, every ring official can attend buying one chair and we will arrange the tables to fill it with 10 friends of boxing.

There will be a boxing card with about 7 world title fights on January 28, for which we intend to appoint any attending ring official who is willing to cooperate with his participation. Attached you will find the complete boxing card.

I hope that you will have the opportunity of being with us in such a great event, and I kindly ask you to please accept my warmest and very best personal regards, looking forward to see you all in Cancun.

Jose Sulaiman Ch.
