Hudaynazarov making name in U.S.

PhilBoxing.com

LAS VEGAS (July 19, 2010) ? U.S. boxing fans may not be able to properly pronounce his name, yet, but unbeaten welterweight Ravshan Hudaynazarov is starting to capture their attention with his throw-back style that features a brutal body attack.

The exciting Uzbekistan prospect, now fighting out of Las Vegas, will be back in action July 23 at Tachi Palace & Casino in Irvine, California on a show headlined by Hudaynazarov?s promoter, Las Vegas-based KZ Event Productions, owned and operated by the Shumeonv brothers, WBA and IBA light heavyweight champion Beibut (9-1, 6 KOs) and his brother, Chingis. The July 23rd show is presented by Goossen Tutor Promotions in association with KZ Event Productions.

Before Shumenov (9-1, 6 KOs) makes his first WBA title defense against undefeated, mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Uzelkov (22-0, 14 KOs) in the 12-round main event on the ESPN Friday Night Fights show, Hudaynazarov (12-0, 10 KOs) will take on former WBC Youth champion Pavel Miranda (16-5-1, 8 KOs) in an 8-round bout.

Hudaynazarov?s last three fights have been in the U.S. ? Gerardo Cesar Prieto (TKO2), Anthony Mora (KO1) and Shadrack Kipruto (TKO 3) ? and each ended early after a barrage of Ravshan?s vicious body punches broke-down his opponents.

?He?s becoming a liver-killer,? Chingis said about his prize prospect, Hudaynazarov. ?A few of his opponents have ended-up in the hospital getting their ribs checked. Ravshan has fought his last two fights as a welterweight (dropping down from junior middleweight) and we believe he is much stronger fighting at 147. He has tremendous potential and continues to impress with each fight.?

Hudaynazarov was a standout amateur boxer in Uzbekistan, capturing gold at the 2007 World Military Games. ?I was taught back home when I first started boxing about the importance of attacking the body,? Ravshan explained. ?I?ve been concentrating on the body even more in my last few fights. I really enjoy fighting as a welterweight; I?m much stronger and faster.?

One of the reasons for Ravshan?s accelerated progress can be attributed to him moving to Las Vegas, where he has been trained by Kevin Barry and Dewey Cooper, from Elite Boxing Gym in nearby Henderson.

?Training here is much better for me,? Ravshan noted. ?I?m very happy to be living in the United States and Las Vegas is fantastic. Beibut and Chingis brought me here and they?ve helped me in every way. My promoters have put my career in the right direction and moving faster than it ever would have back home. Being promoted by a boxer like Beibut is great because he really knows the business and what his boxers go through. I?m very happy to be working for the world champion and glad to be promoted by the Shumenovs.?

Ravshan?s KZ Event stable-mate and fellow undefeated Uzbekistan fighter, Asian Boxing Council and Interim PABA champion Gayrat Ahmedov (14-0-1, 9 KOs), is also scheduled to fight on the July 23 card against Dallas ?Deaf Pride? Vargas (22-4, 16 KOs) in a 10-round, non-title fight.

Tickets for this exciting event are priced at: $20, $50, $60 and $250 and can be purchased by calling the Tachi Palace box office at 559-924-7751 or by visiting www.tickets.com.
