CUELLO TO FIGHT IN WBC INTERNATIONAL UNIFICATION IN ILIGAN CITY

Iligan City- City Mayor Lawrence Cruz, Mayor Rafael Risalda of Maigo, Lanao del Norte and Promoter Aljoe Jaro will be holding the city?s first and biggest boxing showdown ever during their City Fiesta on September 29, 2010. Entitled ?First in Town?, the event will showcase an International Unification bout between our very own WBC International Minimumweight Champion Denver Cuello vs. Thailand?s WBC Interim International Minimumweight Champion Wanheng Minayothin. Jaro met with the two Mayors to arrange the event last July 6 at the Iligan City Hall.
Jaro told this writer that he wants Cuello to stay busy as he prepares for bigger fights in 105 and 108 pounds. He said he does not see a lot of options at 105 division since the champs are afraid of facing Cuello. In as much as he is still waiting for a match with WBA Champ Roman Gonzales of Nicaragua, he is also scouting for good fights at 108 pounds and seeks to find a stint with any champ in the division like WBO?s Calderon, WBC?s Romero or WBA?s Giovanni Segura.
