PhilBoxing.com Thu, 01 Jul 2010
ALA Promotions and Summit Natural Drinking Water?s partnership to promote boxing around the Philippines once again has successfully gathered and electrified crowds this time in Rizal Park, Davao City last June 26, 2010.
This partnership project between two motivated corporations already with a cult following has been around for a little over a year now in such places as Cebu City, Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, General Santos City and this time in Davao that attracted over four thousand people.
Bantamweight Marjohn Yap of Cagayan de Oro City fighting under the ALA Promotions banner headlined and carved out another unanimous decision win over Richard Betos of Butuan City.
Yap did not waste any time and decked his challenger in the opening round with an overhand right to counter his foe. Yap once again dropped Betos with the same punch in the second round but his rival survived the knockdowns through constant encouragement from his corner.
It was an all Marjohn Yap show except for a few moments in the seventh and eighth rounds where Yap?s rival Betos managed to land a few good punches.
On the supporting main event was a showdown between Jether Oliva of General Santos City versus hometown boy Ricky Sabia with Oliva prevailing via fourth round knock-out.
In the undercards Roberto Udtuhan of Digos City won over Arel Suco of Butuan, Jog Alim of Davao won over fellow Davaoe?o Daniel Solis via second round TKO, Ernie Sanchez of Gen. San prevailed over Jaime Alin, Jr. of Bukidnon, Sadam Eyo of Davao via TKO 3 over Hermie Benito of Davao del Sur and Don King Tampus versus Jayson Cingco ened in a Majority Draw.
ALA Promotions and Summit Natural Drinking Water?s ?Fight Night Boxing Tour? once again will present two other exciting boxing events in Cebu this July 2010 and General Santos come August 2010.
