IT ALL DEPENDS ON MAYWEATHER NOW
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 01 Jul 2010

Whether or not a megabuck fight between pound-for-pound king and "Fighter of the Decade" Manny Pacquiao and undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr takes place as originally scheduled on November 13, depends on Mayweather.
That?s the word from Top Rank promoter Bob Arum and from Team Pacquiao. Arum has indicated that both sides, meaning he and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, have agreed on all the negotiating points covering the random blood tests, the revenue split and other peripheral issues.
But Arum has made it clear it all depends on whether Mayweather will sign the contract and be ready to fight this year or whether he would want to take a break and fight next year or decide not to fight Pacquiao at all.
Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz who is leaving for Los Angeles on Thursday night before hooking up with Bernabe Concepcion and Eden Sonsona in Los Angeles and then flying to Puerto Rico for the blockbuster "Latin Fury/Pinoy Power" fight card on July 11, Manila Time, told us that Pacquiao "had agreed on the negotiating points."
However, Koncz insisted that "if nothing is signed within the next few weeks" then Pacquiao would prepare to battle Miguel Cotto in a rematch for Cotto?s light middleweight title or face the returning Antonio Margarito provided Margarito can obtain a license to fight in the US after he was suspended for one year by the California commission.
Koncz said if there are no developments from the Mayweather side then he would ask Arum to submit proposals for possible fights against Cotto and Margarito which Pacquiao would study and make a decision.
While Pacquiao hasn?t set a definite deadline for Mayweather to ink a contract, Koncz said he is not prepared to wait too much longer.
The adviser told us two days ago that boxing and Mayweather are not on Pacquiao?s mind at the moment as he prepares for the task of serving as congressman from the lone district of Sarangani and implementing several programs that would benefit the people of Sarangani, especially the poor.
