AMEME WARNS BAUTISTA NOT TO RUN

PhilBoxing.com

Just minutes ago, United Republic of Tanzania warrior Obote Ameme told Philboxing.com in an exclusive interview inside his hotel room that it will be war in Tagbilaran, Bohol this Saturday as he does not plan to back down one step against WBO Asia Pacific bantam king Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista.

Looking perfectly in shape and sporting his tomahawk hairstyle, Ameme, through his England-educated interpreter/manager Emmanuel Mlundwa, even warned Bautista not to run and prove his worth in front of his local fans.

"That will be very, very good," said Ameme, when told that Bautista is the type who comes to fight and entertain the fans.

Ameme did not look one bit affected by the 15-hour air travel from his hometown in Dar-Es-Salaam City (meaning Harbor of Peace) to Cebu, plus layovers in Dubai and Manila. In fact, he said, everything has been perfect since their arrival in Cebu yesterday at 6PM and he looks forward to trading blows with the 18-year-old Bautista.

Today, Ameme, who said he isn't bothered by the weather as Tanzanian climate is almost the same as the Philippines', was just half a kilo above the 118-lb regulatory weight limit, and should be in perfect weight at the weigh-in in Bohol.

"The good thing about Ameme is he always trains even if he has no fight. His room is just across my gym. So when this fight was announced to us, there was no problem with conditioning," informed Mlundwa.

Born in Tanga but now based in Dar-Es-Salaam, Ameme is the third of five children, and is one of the ten fighters who train under Mlundwa.

"Tanzania is a country of 35 Million people. We are a proud country," added Mlundwa.

Ameme and Mlundwa are scheduled to depart for Tagbilaran, Bohol at 2PM today on board Weesam Express fast craft.
