By Chito Yu Katangkatang PhilBoxing.com Tue, 22 Jun 2010

Fresh from Las Vegas- Michel Rosales has backed out from his July 3 rematch with Filipino Top Welterweight prospect ?Mighty? Mark Jason Melligen. The reasons for backing out remained undisclosed as of this time.
Melligen informed this writer of Rosales' cancellation less than an hour ago. However, Melligen will still fight on the same date against a yet to be named opponent. The Melligen fight is presented by Top Rank and will be held on July 3, 2010 at the Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, Nevada. The Filipino boxer from Cebu?s ALA Gym will continue training at the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas until the day of the fight.
Asked what he thinks about Rosales? sudden decision, Melligen jokingly replied, ?He has probably realized he will get knocked out that?s why he chickened out.? Mark further stated that he is still focused on his fight, will continue his rigorous training and will do his best to win in a very sensational way thus making a statement that he is ready for a world title fight. Melligen is looking forward to fighting top rated welter Alfonso Gomez next en route to a future title fight soon.
