VILORIA WANTS A THIRD WORLD TITLE

PhilBoxing.com

Brian Viloria wants a third world title to go along with his previous WBC light flyweight championship belt and his IBF crown, both of which he won in spectacular fashion winning the WBC title with a 1st round knockout of Eric Ortiz and the IBF title with a spectacular 11th round KO of Ulises Solis on April 19, 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum, the ?Mecca? of Philippine sports and entertainment.

Viloria who lost the IBF title in a heartbreaking 12th round TKO to Panamas resilient Carlos Tamara last January 23 is ready to return and is dead set on winning a third title in the higher flyweight division.

His quest begins in Solar TV?s ?Boxing at the Bay 4 ? Unbreakable" to be held at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City on July 10.

Viloria realized that struggling to make the light flyweight limit caused him to dehydrate and wither in the closing rounds of his title defense against Tamara. Moving up to a natural flyweight gives Viloria more confidence and he said he ?will be back again on the world stage holding up another world, my third one at that. Mark my word!?

Throughout his remarkable professional run, Viloria has been trained by former IBF super featherweight (130 pounds) champion Robert Garcia, who went 35-3 with 25 KOs as a professional.

Despite being the newest addition to Nonito Donaire Jr.?s training staff, the highly sought out boxing trainer will be in Viloria?s corner when he faces Mexico?s 30 year old Omar ?Lobito? Soto Perez on July 10.

The WBA super flyweight interim champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire Jr. (23-1, 15 KO?s) is set to battle Mexican KO artist Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez (27-1, 20 KO?s) also on the same date in Puerto Rico.

Arriving on July 3 along with the famous boxing coach will be the rest of Team Viloria, namely Brian?s fianc?e and LA-based Filipina nurse Erika Navarro as well as veteran cut and corner-man Ruben Gomez.

At 29, Viloria (26-3, 15 KO) believes he has plenty of fight left in his career and at Boxing at the Bay: Unbreakable, everyone finds out just how much more.
