Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 22 Oct 2005 The "Fight For Love" charity boxing event intended to raise funds for former two-time world champion Luisito Espinosa has ben moved to November 5 at the San Andres Civic and Sports Center in Manila. The San Andres Civic and Sports Center will be unavailable on October 29, the date originally set for the event, because of the holding of the Manila Youth Games. The event, promoted by North Cotabato Gov. Manny Pi?ol will feature a double-header for the Philippine lightweight championship and the Philippine jr. bantamweight crown, hopes to raise funds for Espinosa?s legal battle to collect his purse from a world title fight nine years ago. In the main event, Philippine lightweight king, Fernando Montilla will defend his title against the hardhitting Dexter ?Dinamita? Delada of Cebu City. The main supporting bout will be another championship encounter between junior bantamweight titlist Eric Barcelona of Bukidnon and former miniflyweight champion Celso Danggod who is now rated No. 4 in the 115 lb. division. Other bouts will feature young boxing stars from the Visayas and Mindanao. All ticket sales will go to a fund that Luisito could use in his legal battle to collect his purse from a world title fight nine years ago. Espinosa stands to get P500,000 if all tickets are sold. Gov. Pi?ol said Luisito is expected to come home for the fund-raiser. "All ticket sales will be turned over to Luisito by Manila Mayor Lito Atienza who is is supporting and sponsoring the activity,? Gov. Pi?ol said. Mayor Atienza waived the 30 percent amusement tax on ticket sales. Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Eric Buhain also promised to work for the lifting of the mandatory 5% tax on the ticket sales of the boxing event as a gesture of GAB?s support for Espinosa. Meanwhile Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao is sponsoring 1,000 general admission tickets worth 100 pesos each.
