Malcolm Tu?acao guns for OPBF title
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Tue, 26 Jan 2010

Former WBC flyweight world champ Malcolm Tu?acao of Mandaue City will fight for the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) bantamweight title against South Korean Seung-Suk Chae this February 6 in Mungyoeong, South Korea.
The 31 year old Tu?acao (24W (KO 15)-L 2 - D 3) has been inactive for six months due to personal problems. He previously held the OPBF bantamweight title five years ago and the WBC international superflyweight belt in 2003.
Tunacao won the WBC Flyweight world title in 2000 in only his 11th pro fight with a seventh round TKO win over Medgoen Singsurat of Thailand, the guy who dethroned a dehydrated Manny Pacquiao in 1999. Tu?acao had one successful defense, a draw against Celes Kobayashi of Japan, before losing it by 1st round TKO to Thailand?s Pongsalek Wonjongkam after struggling to make weight.
The 30 year old Chae (16 (KO 6) - L 1) is the reigning Korean bantamweight champion. The only loss on Chae?s record was courtesy of the ALA Gym?s Michael Domingo by ten round unanimous decision almost six years ago in Bucheon, South Korea.
Tu?acao still has to settle all of his medical and visa requirements but is currently training at the ALA Gym of Cebu. He remains one of the country?s more talented boxers.
