SINGAPORE READY TO HOST PRO BOXING PhilBoxing.com Sat, 09 Jan 2010 On January 16 2010, TOP RATED BOXING presents “A New Beginning in Professional Boxing” by staging the best fight card ever in the history of Singapore boxing and combat sports. With six fights including a top of the bill Pan Asian (PABA) Championship Title fight and also featuring Singapore’s only professional fighter Mohamad Nor Rizan on the under card. Headlining a six fight card will be world ranked number six, Leon “Hurry Up” Moore, 27 fights - 25 wins - 2 losses, 22 KOs. Leon is a former amateur champion and current four-belt holder - National, Latin America, North America and Caribbean Champion at Bantamweight, 118lbs/53.60kg. This time the 30 year old from Georgetown, Guyana has flown 18,000 kilometers to move up in weight and challenge the no. 1 ranked Asian fighter Marangin “Dinamita” Marbun from Indonesia for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) PABA Super Bantamweight Title. Leon Moore has recently based himself in Bangkok at the new Top Rated Boxing gym. Moving to Asia to reignite his world title ambitions, this boxer / puncher knows if he wins the WBA PABA title, he is in line to fight for a world title in Singapore in 2010. Marangin Marbun (19-6-1,7KOs) is the number one challenger and the experienced 24-year-old is looking to taking a major scalp. On the undercard are five more exciting fights, including fighters from China, Japan, Korea, Philippines and Thailand representing up and coming Asian talent inspired by the exploits of championship boxers like Manny Pacquiao. They include world ranked number 18 Saddam “Da Bomb” Kietyongyuth from Thailand, an Asian lightweight champion with 18 wins and no losses and an impressive 14 knockouts. Representing Singapore will be Mohamad Nor Rizan, (3-1, 3KOs). The super bantamweight is now a sparring partner of Leon Moore and will benefit from being around his world class talent in the quest for a regional title in 2010/11. He makes a welcome return to Suntec where he last fought in November 2006. |
