ALL SET FOR CASIMIRO TITLE FIGHT ON DEC. 19 IN NICARAGUA

PhilBoxing.com

A major boxing event in Nicaragua which is something SPECIAL in MEMORY OF ALEXIS "EL FLACO EXPLOSIVO" ARGUELLO is now being finalized. This event is Arguello's wish when he was still alive when he requested the President to have a Big Boxing event in the country and it is now REALIZED!

In a press conference in Managua, Nicaragua promoter/matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz the "Picasso" finally confirmed the WBO Interim World Lightflyweight Championship between Filipino upcoming and young prospect John Reil Casimiro versus Colombian fighter Cezar Chantilla. Casimiro from Ormoc City, Province of Leyte is the current WBO Asia Pacific Jr. Flyweight Champion with a rercord of (13 wins-0 loss- 7kos) while Chantilla from Monteria, Colombia is a former WBA World Champion and WBO No. 2 and has a record of 28 wins -2 losses (22kos).

Casimiro who is currently managed by Jun Pe Castillo is under the promotional outfit of SGG Sports Promotions of Sammy Gello-ani. Gello-ani is hopeful that Casimiro will be successful in his first attempt at a World Title. Gello-ani " is very thankful for this great opportunity. It is a great honor for us, Filipinos, to be part of this major boxing event in Nicaragua. It is seldom for this kind of endeavor to happen. This is a Christmas Wish come true for Casimiro - fighting for a major world title and be a part of a very laudable project fully supported by Promoters .... All Star Boxing, Inc., "The New Generation" & Felix "Tuto" Zabala, Jr. in association with Sampson Boxing, Prodesa, Cuadrilatero & PR Best Boxing and the WORLD BOXING ORGANIZATION (WBO) and the government of Nicaragua. We simply cannot let this big break for Casimiro pass. I am very optimistic that before 2009 ends, we will have another world champion. I would like to extend to the picasso of boxing, Sampson Lewkowicz, our heartfelt appreciation for the inclusion of a Filipino in this historical boxing event."

From the record of Chancilla, he is no easy opponent for Casimiro. It will be a quite a task for our Filipino contender. But with the power and heart of Casimiro, he has a big chance of winning the fight.

This boxing event promises quality fights, various world titles and will be televised worldwide.

Casimiro will be accompanied by Sammy Gello-ani of SGG Sports Promotions, James Osorio of IPI and his trainer, Pingping Tepora. The team's VISA for NICARAGUA will be released tomorrow afternoon. With this, the team will leave early next week via Los Angeles, California and will still have time to continue training and acclimatized before the Dec. 19th schedule. Nonito Donaire, Sr. will leave with the team and be at the corner of Casimiro.
