A Big Gift for Haye!

PhilBoxing.com

N. Charleston, 787 CFRP -- David Haye won a majority decision last night against the former undefeated WBA Heavyweight Nicolai Valuev. Two judges scored the bout 116-112 for Haye and 114-114 for the 3rd judge.

Valuev the champion fought like the challenger, he carried the fight all the way to 12th round. Haye played like the champion, that his only option is to run, because Valuev's jabs are pure the entire night. All the Hayemaker can do is docked and ran and some ineffective counterpunches.

I scored 116-113 for Valuev.

Though Valuev didn't hurt Haye, but hey! Haye didn't do much to dominate the champion Valuev. Challengers are supposed to convince the judges that at least they're there to take the crown. How can you take the crown if your running all night?

Valuev did enough to make Haye uncomfortable all night, except the last round where Haye connected a counterpunch that made Valuev outbalanced, but Valuev recovered quickly (because he wasn't hurt) and continued to throw the jabs that make the Hayemaker away.

Anyways, I think the plan is to make the more graceful Haye to be the new face of Heavyweight, post Mike Tyson era. That's an early Christmas gift for Haye. A big gift indeed.

But hey! (again), Klitschkos are here, not so fast David Haye. If you had trouble penetrating Valuev's effective jabs, how much more against Vitaly?

Maybe Haye has a chance against the glass jaw Wladimir Klitschko, but I doubt the big brother's valedictorian jab and the PhD straight.

Oh!Beertime...
I talked to my friend Dougie Fischer about comparing the camps of Manny and Cotto's... Cotto had the better camp, started earlier and peaceful, but Manny had the better sparring partner, disregard the Baguio and the Bagyo... so, what does it mean? Manny will win the fight... hehehe, it's just that simple guys... Cotto is not yet the boxer that can defeat a phenom like Manny said ME!... congratulations to my good friend in Sacrameto, CA. Glenn Ramos for having a new baby last Nov. 5, welcome to the world Conner Matthew, he will be my Kinugos, right Pareng Glenn? Conner said I'll watch Manny next week...Lots of things happening here in South Carolina, Boeing is staying and expanding... also, JARESA'S KAMAYAN AND RESTAURANT at 7021 Dorchester Rd just adds to the whole menu, the best Lutong Pinoy in town, even my proud Italian friends surrendered their Pastas with white flags to the cuisine of pure Filipino dishes, Kalderita, Adobo, Humba, Kare-Kare, and more... Advance Happy Birthday to the US Marine Corps., Major Lucho Freund, Attention!
