World Boxing Champion Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton was honored by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom for her accomplishments both in and out of the ring. Lisa Ang, the Fil-Am liaison of Mayor Newsom, gave a heartwarming speech about Ana and her accomplishments in boxing her role as an inspiration to the San Francisco Community. Ang also touched upon Ana's continued work in joining community leaders in helping the Typhoon Relief efforts and how Ana uses her World Championship Title to bring more awareness to the Filipino American community. Loud applauds filled City Hall when the Proclamation announced October 29th 2009 as Ana Julaton Day!

Born in San Francisco Ana Julaton was in awe of the Honor of having a day named after her. "I'm in shock! The positive energy I receive in the Bay Area from all my fans and supporters, I truly feel honored and humbled by the amount of encouragement everyone here in San Francisco gives me and my team. It continues to make me believe that change is upon us and I'm fighting for more than a belt every time I step in to the ring. In this wonderful city where I grew up, there is no barrier that cannot be broken!" said a very emotional Julaton.

Ana's next fight is for the WBO World Title scheduled December 4th as the Main Event at the HP Pavillion in San Jose, making her the 1st female to become the Main Event twice in the History of the Bay Area. Partial proceeds of ticket sales bought in Ana Julaton's name will be given to help Typhoon Relief
