Pinoy Boxing Manager Cries 'Foul' on Koncz!

PhilBoxing.com

Another Filipino boxing manager, after years of toiling to build up his fighters, has found himself in the raw end of the deal following the departure of two of his top fighters to join Michael Koncz, a known aide of superstar Manny Pacquiao.

Boxing manager Aljoe Jaro, who in recent months has been reported to have one of the best line-up of fighters in the country, revealed today that Koncz has suddenly taken two of his top fighters under his care.

The two fighters who are now with Koncz, according to Jaro, are world-rated featherweight Bernabe Concepcion and world-ranked light-flyweight Sonny Boy Jaro (no relation to Aljoe).

"Sana pagsabihan ni Manny (Pacquiao) yan (Koncz). Paano naman kami na naghihirap bandang huli iba ang makinabang? Sana protektahan naman ni Manny and mga kababayan nyang naghihirap para maging ganyan ang mga boxer tapos nakawin lang ng walang kaano-ano?" asked Jaro.

Jaro informed that Sonny Boy has left him since three weeks ago to join Koncz, who has apparently secured a WBA light-flyweight bout for the fighter against Giovanni Segura on November 21 in Mexico.

"Ewan ko paano nalason isip nya (Sonny Boy)," explained Jaro when asked why his ward had suddenly left him to join Koncz, who has recently figured in a back and forth with renowned trainer Freddie Roach for demanding the latter's ouster from Pacman's camp.

Jaro also revealed that his other ward, Bernabe Concepcion, has also joined Koncz although the fighter is still under contract with him until December 2011.

"If you notice in his last fight (against Steven Luevano), I didn't join him in his corner anymore," revealed Jaro, who blamed Koncz for the demotion.

Concepcion is set to tangle with Luevano once again sometime in December for the WBO featherweight title.

Koncz first introduced himself to Pinoy boxing fans via a sensational managerial takeover on the career of the now retired Diosdado Gabi from then North Cotabato Governor Manny Pinol.

After a few fights in the US, Gabi found himself in a career deadend, prompting him to hang up his gloves for good.
