PhilBoxing.com Fri, 02 Oct 2009
Filipino Drian Francisco easily made the 115-lb limit during official weigh-in held minutes ago at the Manila Ocean Park for tomorrow's "Boxing at the Bay" jointly promoted by Solar Sports and Saved by the Bell.
Panama's Roberto Vasquez, however, initially tipped the scales at 116.5 lbs, but has been allowed to shed off the extra 1.5 lbs as of this writing.
Filipino Michael Farenas, meanwhile, came in at a perfect 126 lbs, while Korean Jong Ang Baek came in at a very trim 125 lbs for their WPBF featherweight showdown.
ALA fighters Milan Milendo and Michael Domingo also came through weighing perfect for their respective non-title bouts against foreign opponents.
Milendo came in at 107 lbs, while Mexican Guadalupe Martinez checked in at 108 lbs.
Domingo tipped the scales at 116 lbs, while US Olympian Jose Navarro initially hit the scales half a pound over the 117-lb contract weight. Navarro made weight on his second try.
Tomorrow's first bout will start 9AM at the Cuneta Astrodome.
