SONSONA IN CEBU TODAY TO THANK MEDIA, FANS! WBO PREXY TO AWARD BELT

CEBU CITY--Newly-minted WBO superfly champion Marvin "Marvelous" Sonsona is expected to plane in 2PM today in Cebu with his team mainly to thank the Cebu media and fans following his dominating twelve-round decision win over Puerto Rican Jose "Carita" Lopez over the weekend.
Sonsona will be joined in the trip by WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo and his Philippine promoter Sammy Gello-ani, as well as manager Rajan Yraola and trainer Jhun Agrabio.
Sonsona will then attend a press conference at 4PM arranged for him by Cebu sportsman Jonathan Guardo at the upscale City Sports Club, where Sonsona will answer questions from the media.
According to sources, Sonsona will also attend a special thanksgiving mass arranged for him by Mrs Cora Gello-ani, wife of outstanding promoter Sammy Gello-ani starting 3PM also at the City Sports Club.
Meanwhile, Panoncillo also revealed that no less than WBO president Paco Valcarcel is planning to personally hand the championship belt on Sonsona "anytime soon."
Valcarcel, who is based in Puerto Rico, will fly to the Philippines just to award the belt on Sonsona.
