PhilBoxing.com

Toronto, Canada ? The War continues, Puerto Rico vs. Philippines in a show down between Youth and aged prized fighters billed as ?Rumble at Rama IX? will headline Philippines ?Marvelous? Marvin Sonsona versus Jose Carita Lopez, 12 rounds for the World Boxing Organization Jr. Bantamweight crown.

Sonsona is looking to be Philippines next world champion and hopefully becoming the youngest world champion thus far at Philippines.

Promoter Allan Trembly of Canada in Association with Sampson Boxing Promotions LLC is all set for their extravaganza at Ontario, Canada.

Sonsona who arrived a few days ago with Nonito Donaire and latter accompanied by Jun Agrabio the following day is ready for the fight.

Sonsona said in a long distance interview, ?this is for my country and I will do everything in my power to win, I don?t know how I will win but my hands will be raised up high as the winner after the fight?. Sonsona said.

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has informed during the WBO convention that he is very excited in this young talent, we don?t know what the outcome will be however, it should be a great fight and a new star will be born. There have already been offers from other countries if he prevails however, we need to cross the river first before we can talk about that, besides we have a six fight deal with Allan Trembly.

Nevertheless, Sonsona cannot take the veteran lightly because of all his experiences he had overcome to beat well credited contenders in his division. You have to remember that Carita Lopez have not lost in a long time so Sonsona cannot be to over confidence?. Said Lewkowicz.

In the Philippines, the buzz is on, there will be a lot of excitement if Sonsona prevails and win the World title. He will definitely be the talk of the town when he becomes the youngest world champion ever in the history of Philippines.

Meanwhile, during the 22nd WBO award Convention ceremony at Budapest, Hungary, President Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel along with WBO Asia Pacific Vice President Leon Panoncillo, Jr. awarded ?Marvelous?Marvin Sonsona the WBO Oriental Fighter of the year for his outstanding knockout win over former world champion Wandee Singwangcha for the WBO Oriental title.

Philippines Games and Amusement Commissioner Mr. Angel Bautista was honored to have received the award in behalf of GenSan kid Marvin Sonsona. Bautista also thanked the President for giving opportunities to all Filipino fighters and giving Sonsona the chance to vie for the world WBO Jr. Bantamweight title setforth on September 4th at Ontario, Canada.

In the co-support of ?Rumble at Rama IX? will also feature Canadian former IBF Junior Featherweight world champion, ?The Canadian Kid? Steve Molitor (29-1, 11 KO?s) who will face tough Argentine Sergio Escobar (11-8-1, 2 KO?s).

Also undefeated Canadian Heavyweight Greg ?The Steel Pole? Kielsa (10-0, 5 KO?s) will take on American Kevin Monty (17-6-1, 13 KO?s) on a 10round tiff.
