PhilBoxing.com

Manila, Philippines - The Jose “Carita” Lopez versus Marvelous Marvin Sonsona is now headlining the main event “Rumble in Rama IX” at Casino Rama, in Rama, Ontario, September 4th. Marvin Sonsona currently rated number #6 in the WBO world ranking, is looking to score an upset against reigning WBO World champion Jose "Carita" Lopez. Lopez won the world title back March 28, 2009 against Thai veteran Pramansak Phosawan in a lackluster affair.

In a conversation with Marvin Sonsona today, he said, that he will not disappoint the Filipino fight fans as he promise to deliver a better performance than of those who fought at Filipino Power 2. “Watch my fight and you will see the difference,” Sonsona said.

“I know my ability, I am not over confident, however, having Coach Jun (Agrabio) and Donaire, Sr. on my side I am sure that the outcome of my fight will be positive. I know that I am now in top peak condition for this fight with Carita Lopez and I am ready and willing to trade blows with him,” explained Sonsona.

Sonsona also said that his training camp was one of the greatest camp he ever had, no interference from the outside. With coach Jun Agrabio and the father of the Flash, Nonito Donaire, Sr. we have developed a good strategy to beat Lopez.

This coming September 4th, the whole country of Philippines and Filipino’s around the world will be proud again that I will bring home the WBO Jr. Bantamweight crown back to our country. I surely be excited to be the youngest ever to hold a World crown in the history of the Philippines," said Sonsona.

Manager Dr. Rajan Yraola said that his US Promoter Sampson Lewkowics has worked out a six fight deal with Canadian promoter Allan Tremblay of Orions Sports Promotions in association with Casino Rama, in Rama, Ontario. If successful, Mr. Trembly also informed, that they would like to showcase “Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona more often at the Casino because he believe that Canada's Filipino community will be a great supporter of boxing.

The Filipino community is gearing up for this fight as their Filipino Consulate at Canada will be providing Filipino flaglets to fight fans. He will surely be a world champion for a long time, it is nice to have respect in place for me not like others, Team Sonsona has given me more encouragement to mold another great fighter from the Philippines and I am honored to be part of the team and their family," said Donaire, Sr.

The fight card is billed as “Rumble at Rama IX” will headline Marvelous Marvin Sonsona versus Jose Carita Lopez, 12 rounds for the World Boxing Organization Jr. Bantamweight crown, which will be held on September 4th, at Casino Rama, at Rama, Ontario.
