SONSONA READY TO RUMBLE PhilBoxing.com Mon, 17 Aug 2009 Manila, Philippines -- Experience versus youth, the match between Marvelous Marvin Sonsona and Jose Carita Lopez on September 4, 2009 at Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada is heating up to be a highly anticipated match. Philippine renown promoter Sammy Gello-ani has informed that Marvin Sonsona is in his peak condition in his preparation for the World Boxing Organization super flyweight title. Team Sonsona is wrapping up their final week of heavy sparring at the Elorde Gym and will continue their training in Canada with former world champion Steve Molitor. Gello-ani said that they are scheduled to depart for Canada at the end of the week and they are expecting to get the required visa from the Canadian embassy within the week to depart on time so that Sonsona can acclimatize with the weather and the time difference. Meanwhile, after watching the Top Rank promoted Pinoy Power 2 yesterday, Marvin Sonsona said “magaling talaga si Donaire at proud na proud ako para sa kanya kasi ang Papa nya at si coach Jun [Agrabio] rin ang nagtuturo sa akin kung ano ang dapat kong gawin pagdating sa mga fight ko (Donaire is really good and I'm proud of him since it is his father together with coach Jun who teach what to do in my fights,” said Sonsona. The scheduled Sep. 4 championship bout will be broadcast live in Puerto Rico and in the Philippines with the television network that will carry the broadcast in the Philippines is still in negotiation with Gello-ani. This will surely a fight that everyone in the Philippines is looking forward to. Donaire Sr. said that Sonsona is in top shape, having accumulated 150 rounds of sparring and is ready to take on Jose Carita Lopez. “We will not disappoint our country, we are 110 per cent ready.” explained Donaire Sr. "We need to be ready for this fight because we are dealing with a veteran who has much more experience than Sonsona.
