Who will become the HOMECOMING QUEEN Sept 12th? PhilBoxing.com Fri, 14 Aug 2009 Fil-Am female fighting Pride of the Philippines, Bay area’s own Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton is coming home. The most influential Filipina boxer in the history of the sport and arguably the most popular female boxer to ever come out of the SF Bay Area is making her return for the chance of a lifetime. Ana ranked as a Top Contender by the W.B.C. (World Boxing Council) & I.B.A. (International Boxing Association) at 122lbs will be making history as female boxing will be the Main Event September 12th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. On American Metal and Irons Fight Night at the Tank promoted by Roy Englebrecht promotions. Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton will be fighting 10 rounds for the I.B.A. SuperBantamweight World Championship against a boxing legend known worldwide, Three time World Champion and the reigning GBU & IFBA Featherweight World Champion Kelsey "The Road Warrior" Jeffries (41 wins 9 losses 1 draw) who represents Gilroy, CA. Kelsey Jeffries who won the I.B.A. SuperBantamweight World Championship (122lbs) back in 2004 before moving up to 126lbs is currently ranked by the WBC #1 Featherweight in the world and is the GBU Featherweight & IFBA Featherweight World Champion making "The Road Warrior" Ana's most dangerous opponent. Jeffries is considered by many to be one of the Best Female Boxers in the History of the sport. In Kelsey's 51 professional fights spanning over a decade of Professional Boxing, she has captured and defended multiple titles including 3 World Championships. Kelsey who won her 1st World Championship at the HP Pavillion, ironically the same year Ana began her amateur boxing career in the SF Golden Gloves is a true boxing veteran. One of her brightest Bay Area moments being her domination of the 2006 SF Golden Gloves Championship to winning the title at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium in front of over 5,500 fans. Should "The Hurricane" pull off the upset she becomes the first Female Filipino-American to ever win the I.B.A. World Championship, a belt that was captured & defended 5 times by the great Laila Ali. Could it be possible that the Best Male and Female boxers in the World today be of Philippine heritage? Will Ana pull off the upset and become the "Homecoming Queen" or will Kelsey continue her streak of 8 consecutive victories at the HP Pavilion which began over 7 years ago? Find out the answer on September 12th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. |
