SAMPSON BOXING PROMOTIONS INKS “MARVELOUS” MARVIN SONSONA

PhilBoxing.com

Manila, Philippines -– Renowned international promoter Sampson “Picasso” Lewkowicz has proudly announced that the hottest Philippine prospect, “Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona has just been added to his stable of world class fighters. Sonsona today signed a three year fight contract with Sampson Boxing Promotions and is now penciled to see action sometime in early September in the United States.

Sampson Lewkowicz, who is highly respected internationally, is now pursuing on promoting world class prize fighters. With newly signed WBA light heavyweight world champion Gabriel “Chico Guapo” Campillo of Spain, WBA #5 Hector “El Tigre” Saldiva and several regarded 2008 Olympians, namely John Jackson and Julious Jackson, the well-known “Picasso” Lewkowicz is out to compete with the best of boxing promoters in the States.

Lewkowicz, who convinced promoter Murad Muhammad to sign up Manny Pacquiao when no other promotional outfit would give Pacquaio a second look, had always predicted from the beginning that Pacquiao was a special kid.

This time around there will be no offerings or convincing to promoters to sign what he had discovered because Sampson Boxing Promotions will be the promoter this time around.

Lewkowicz sees Sonsona as a diamond in a rough, “a kid that is ready to be polished, Sampson Boxing Promotions will be the one who will do the polishing for Sonsona to greatness,” said Lewkowicz.

“You will see what I will do for this kid and believe me Sonsona has the same power and talent of a Pacquaio. He is another special kid coming out of the wood works that will be winning several weight division titles. I had my eyes on this kid for a while now, and the time has come. I believe that this kid will be the next jewel from the Philippines,” explained Lewkowicz.

“Signing with Sampson Boxing Promotions means a lot to me,” said Sonsona. “I am really fortunate to have a manager like Dr. Rajan and Khristine Yraola as my guidance. I also want to thank my Philippines promoter Sammy Gello-ani who worked tirelessly promoting me. I know that if it was not for him I would not be getting offers to fight abroad,” said Sonsona.

The hard hitting General Santos southpaw is coming off a spectacular 2nd round knockout over veteran Wandee Singwangcha in the featured triple WBO regional championship bout that was televised live back to Thailand held last May 28, 2009 at the Cebu Coliseum.

The 18 year old will have a special announcement together with his newly signed USA promoter Sampson Lewkowicz this July 25th during his celebration of his 19th birthday at Manila.
