Sugar Shame on You for Failing to Offer Tempting Pie to Jr. By Paul Hilario PhilBoxing.com Sun, 21 Jun 2009 Sugar Shane Mosley wants to invite Manny Pacquiao to take a bite off his sugary temptations. Catchweight ? check Smaller purse ? double check Rematch ? triple check But he failed to offer it to an equally deserving disciple of the sweet science ? Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sure Pacquiao still doesn?t have a dance partner right now which could be the reason he is gung-ho about Pacquiao. But before Pacquiao came around, Sugar and Floyd could have squared off a long time ago. Why all of a sudden offer all these concessions to the world?s light welterweight champion? Why not to the ex-welterweight champion who has just returned? Of course right now Floyd has Juan Ma to contend with first, but even then, Shane should offer the same tempting pie to Mayweather Junior. Go ahead Shane offer it to Floyd as well. From what I understand Golden Boy and Mayweather Promotions are partners now and it would be easier to let the aroma waft to Floyd?s nose. Follow the same route as Top Rank with Pacquiao-Cotto. Go fight a boxer from your own backyard. This way you can have all the pie. Why be so greedy? Why do you want a slice of the Pacman pie? Obviously it?s because it would be sweeter and bigger than anything you can ever bake at the Golden Cookie House. I can smell what?s cooking over there. Mayweather versus Marquez = bread for Golden Boy Pacquiao versus Mosley = bread for Golden Boy Pacquiao versus Cotto =no honey for Golden Boy You make it sound as if it were all for legacy?s sake. I smell something different though. Boxing is still a business. Sugar Shane said that Top Rank honcho Bob Arum is throwing a bone to Cotto to keep him. Well this bone still has a lot of meat on it ? last time I checked it?s still a whole cow! And it?s the juiciest meat in town! If you wanted a part of that bone, you should have convincingly beaten Cotto when you had the chance. Beating his burrito-wrap loaded tormentor won?t cut the cake so to speak. Let Pacquiao fight Cotto then you could be next. Or never if Floyd comes to his senses he might take on the current pound for pound champion to settle the issue. And from the looks of it, after that fight if it ever happens, Pacquiao will retire and enter another arena- an arena that might be more vicious than boxing.
