Kennel Gym Boxers Now Equipped With Proper Gear

Los Angeles, CA -- It was a long 6 hour drive from San Leandro up north near San Francisco to the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, but it was worth every minute of it.
Yesterday, Arvin Jugarap, the CEO of The Kennel Boxing Gym at San Leandro led a two car caravan of boxers that train at his gym down to Canoga Park to visit the famed maker of world class mouthguards, Dr. Ed de la Vega.
The Kennel Boxing Gym is a brainchild of Nonito Donaire Sr. It was him who inspired Jugarap to put up the gym so young men from the area can have a place to be properly guided as they endeavor to excel in the sweet science.
As the head guy at the gym, he wanted to have his fighters the right gear to protect them from any accidental injuries to their teeth and soft tissues related to boxing.
One boxer training at his gym has full banded orthodontic braces. Without a proper mouthguard, his inner cheeks and tongue are subject to unnecessary injuries owing to the presence of the orthodontic braces. Thus, Jugarap made sure that he is properly protected.
A specially designed and crafted mouthguard was made for him that featured channels for his braces thus protecting his soft tissues as he spars at the gym.
Jugarap brought seven young fighters who are all in the very early stage of their career. They are booked to be in a fight card on April 14th in northern California.
One nice bonus for the boys as they spent time in the Los Angeles area was a visit to the Santa Monica beach area to soak up the early spring sun and enjoy nice clean air.
They also got to visit the famous Wildcard Gym at Hollywood, the gym made famous by Manny Pacquiao.
