LAPUT GETS OFFER TO FACE DANIEL PONCE DE LEON!

Outstanding Filipino fighter Ramie Laput may soon become a recognized name on the world boxing scene as he is penciled to face Daniel Ponce De Leon in the latter's Philippine appearance sometime April.
Laput (36 wins and 3 losses) is the former Philippine champion and currently the WBO Asia Pacific as well as the WBO Inter-Continental Champion.
"International promoter Sammy Geollani has offered us this fight in Manila for the last week in April. I am negotiating terms for this fight and Ramie will defend his WBO Inter-Cont title against the former world champion if the money is right," said Laput's manager Ken Smith of the American Boxing Academy.
Laput who had been toiling in obscurity until joining the ABA team of Smith has seen his stock rise considerably over the last year after winning both the WBO regional titles along with WBC #20 and WBO #8 world rankings.
De Leon (35 wins 2 loss and 31 KOs) who is the former WBO world superbantamweight champion and current WBO #2 ranked super bantamweight is best known for his 1st round destruction of Filipino Rey "Boom Boom" Buatista and his decision victory over World Bantamweight Champ Gerry Penalosa.
