MAASIM'S COWBOY MAYOR LOPEZ BRINGS BOXING TO PROV. CAPITOL

PhilBoxing.com

ALABEL, SARANGGANI--Maasim's Mayor JoJo Lopez the Cowboy boxing figurehead from Saranggani province on the Island of Mindanao, and the manager of #14 world ranked flyweight and WBO Oriental Flyweight Champion Richie Mepranum has arranged another fantastic fight card for friday, Nov 28th at the Prov. Capitol in Alabel, Saranggani.

The event promoted by Lopez promotions and sanctioned by the GAB features 74 scheduled rounds of professional boxing, including four 10 round bouts. The Co-main event featuers 2 fighters from Mayor Lopez' Maasim team who will be fighting for Mindanao championship belts.

The first bout pits Lopez' up and coming and unbeaten Bimbo Nacionales against former WBO Inter-Cont title challenger Rodel Tejares for the Mindanao Jr flyweight title. Nacionales, a very nice looking prospect is moving into his first main event and will use this opportunity to improve his position in the smokin' hot Phillipine boxing scene.

In the other half of the doubleheader Maasim's Elmer Legaria attempts to rebound from his disappointing loss in Cebu last month. Legaria (10-1 will) be tested against former PBF featherweight champion Melvin Ayudtud in a 10 round bout for the Mindanao featherweight title.

Two other 10 round bouts are scheduled featuring fighters from the American Boxing Academy stable of Ken Smith.

WBO Asia Pacific Jr Featherweight Champion Ramie Laput (34 wins and 3 losses) will take on a fighter with little chance of doing more than to give Laput a chance to impress local fans.

Laput the #15 ranked Jr featherweight in the world will use his bout against the veteran trialhorse Roldan Malinao to prepare for an anticipated WBO title defense on December 20th in Digos City.

Fernando "TaTa" Lumacad another ABA headliner is slated to go 10 rounds with tough guy Jerry Manganip. Lumacad is coming off a 12 round draw in a WBO title fight over a tough opponent from Thailand. Lumacad (17-1-1) 8kos will hope to make short work of Manganip who has shown an ability to not get stopped.

The rest of the Mayor Lopez promoted fight card will showcase several young and unbeaten fighters from both Mayor Lopez and Smith's ABA stable.. Bert Udtuhan of ABA will try to run his perfect 5-0 4kos record to six straight, as well as young unbeaten 18 yr old Joebert "Sugar" Delos Reyes. On Lopez side the young upstart Alvin Bais will try to continue his winning ways. Bais a superflyweight has been impressive so far in his young career wining in Cagayan DeOro, and recently in Digos City.

The remainder of the card will involve four more 4 and 6 round bouts featuring local area fighters.
