At the WBC 46th Annual World Convention morning session, Governor Kim Tae-Hwan of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province of Korea sent this invitation message thru his representatives from the Tourism, Sports Industry and Korean Boxing Commissions. The transcript of his speech as delivered to the General Assembly during the Promoters and Commission Meeting at the JinJiang Hotel is as follows: Honorable WBC President Jose Sulaiman Chagnon, WBC Executives, Ladies and Gentleman: I would like to express my great gratitude to all of your contribution to the world boxing community. I would like to express deepest thanks and appreciation to all of your support of developing World Boxing. Congratulations on the Opening of the 46th WBC World Convention here in Chengdu, China. As I reported at the 45th convention in Manila, Jeju is doing its best to prepare the 47th WBC World Convention 2009. My honorable Ladies and Gentlemen! Jeju is the World Peace Island as well. Peace, itself, is our sportsmen?s ultimate goal to achieve. And Jeju has held more than 240 international sports events such as 2002 FIFA World Cup, 2003 World Junior Boxing Championship, 2007 FIFA under-17 World Cup, etc. Korean delegation delivered message of invitation from Governor Kim Tae-Hwan of Jeju during morning?s session (Photo by Dr. Allan Recto). Therefore, Jeju can be said to be a best venue for WBC World Convention. My honorable Ladies and Gentlemen! I would like to invite you to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in November 2009. You will be greatly welcomed by Jeju People and be impressed with Jeju Free International City where you can find beautiful landscape and unique culture. I wish the 47th WBC World Convention would be an opportunity for you to encourage human harmony and friendship as well as share fair play spirit.
