PhilBoxing, Cebu Media at Ringside for Donaire-Mthalane Showdown, WBO Convention, Bautista-Ruiz and "Dream Match" PhilBoxing.com Fri, 24 Oct 2008 PhilBoxing.com and Cebuano boxing fans will get ringside treat for the November 1 title defense of IBF/IBO flyweight king Nonito Donaire Jr against South African Moruti Mthalane. This after Philboxing.com's Dong Secuya and Salven Lagumbay were given the official media accreditation by Magna Media to cover the bout, dubbed "Final Impact" at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The duo, who will leave for the US on Oct. 29, will also cover the bouts for the newspapers as well as local radio RMN-DYHP, giving maximum media exposure to their coverage. The main News Conference, according to Magna Media, takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 29 in the Border Grill Restaurant around noontime. On Friday, Oct. 31, the official Weigh-In will take place in the J-Pop Lounge inside the casino at 1 p.m. and will be open to the public. From November 10 through 14, the duo will be joined by "Pinoy Boxing" co-host Edward Ligas in covering the WBO world annual convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Filipino contingents in that annual conclave include ALA's Michael Aldeguer, SGG's Sammy Gello-ni and Elmer Anuran of 'Saved by the Bell' Boxing TV Program. On November 22, Secuya, Lagumbay and Ligas will be at ringside for the special coverage of Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista's duel with Heriberto Ruiz underneath the Ricky Hatton-Paulie Malignaggi face-off at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This before the trio embarks on the biggest coverage in their media careers as they cover from ringside the Oscar De la Hoya-Manny Pacquiao superbout straight from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 6.  |
