GEJON FIGHTS THIS SATURDAY
PhilBoxing.com Wed, 22 Oct 2008

Former two-time world title challenger Eriberto ?Yukka? Gejon seeks redemption when he attempts a comeback against the dangerous Brix ?Bomb? Ray of Davao City on October 25, 2008 at the Island City Mall car park in Tagbilaram City.
The double-header fistic thriller is headlined by the veteran Gejon who will trade mitts with Brix Ray while newly-crowned PBF featherweight champion Ricky Sismundo will do battle against the Ilonggo journeyman, Reman Salem.
The two headliner promises to be a slam-bang affair with both Gejon and Sismundo enjoying the edge over their equally formidable opponents but an upset is not being discounted as Ray and Salem have the credential to reverse the odds.
Brix Ray, the Davao slugger, boasts of having knocked out former amateur standout Nic Banal while the grizzled veteran Reman Salem is coming off an impressive win over Ruben Santillanosa last month.
It will be a crucial fight for the former highly-regarded Gejon because an impressive win will be his ticket to a bigger and more lucrative fights in the near future.
What may steal the show however from the headliners is the special attraction featuring the explosive knockout artist James Bacon of the ALA Gym who will be tested by the more experienced Jojo Arnado of Cagayan de Oro in an 8 round contest.
Bacon, the 18 year old youngster, parades a menacing record of 5 knockouts in 6 wins with just a solitary loss in seven (7) fights and is being touted as the next rising star in the ALA Gym rosters.
Another interesting and much-awaited fight is the professional debut of Rocky Amonsot, younger brother of the former world-rated Czar Amonsot. The youngster in pitted against Socrates Pasaol of the Tony Dacer stable of Davao City.
A total of 46 rounds of slugfest will usher the second Summit Natural Drinking ?Fight Night? boxing tour presentation organized by ALA Promotion in coordination with the City Government of Tagbilaran. It is open and free to the public.
