THE HEAT IS ON: TALISAY FIGHT NIGHT PhilBoxing.com Wed, 01 Oct 2008 In what could be the biggest boxing event in Talisay, WBO ORIENTAL AND ASPAC TITLES are up for grabs on October 3, Friday at the Talisay Sports Complex at 7:00 p.m. Gate will be opened at 5:00p.m. for amateur bouts. The fight card is being presented for the benefit of the Sta. Teresa de Avila Parish by well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani of SGG Sports Promotion in cooperation with Golden Dream Promotions, Viva Sports, Tanduay, Omega and Talisay City Amateur Boxing Association. Ciso ?Kid Terrible? Morales who was supposed to defend his title against Thong Thai Rajanondh, injured his right hand while training for this schedule. Promoter Sammy ?Don King? Gello-ani was lucky to find UNDEFEATED ANTHONY ?ROCKY? MARCIAL who has a record of nine (9) fights winning 8 by knockouts in a demonstration of his punching power to take on Thailand?s Thong Thai Rajanondh for the WBO Oriental Super Featherweight Interim Title. Expected to steal the show on the Double Championship card is undefeated Jonreil Casimiro of the Omega Boxing Gym who will slug it out with Thailand?s Liempetch Sor Veerapol for the WBO Asia Pacific Vacant Junior Flyweight Title. Casimiro parades a record of 10 wins with 5 knockouts while Veerapol has a 10 ? 3 with 7 knockouts. An exciting match-up of Junior lightweights, Rey Labao of the Dante Ortiz? boxing stable of Las Vegas ( 16W ( 11 Kos ) ? 1 L ) clashes with Darryl Pucdol of RWS Stable of Cebu. Other fights will be between promising South Korean flyweight Jonghwa Lee under SGG promotional outfit who is undefeated with a record of 7-0-1 with 1 knockout. An excellent boxer, boxer Lee faces Erwin Pulvera. Junior flyweight Jheter Oliva from General Santos City will take on Jerome Buntog while super bantamweight Richie Abapo of Talisay City clashes with Brian Inihaw. The organizers have scheduled a PRESSCON this morning (October 1) at 11:00 a.m. at the Golden Gisangag Express at Andres Abellana St. Cebu City. The official weigh-in will be tomorrow, October 2 at the same place.  |
