WBO EXEC LOOKING AHEAD FOR BUSY DAYS
PhilBoxing.com Sun, 28 Sep 2008
BANGKOK -- WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo is bracing himself for what will easily be the busiest schedule for his regional organization so far in the next two weeks with nine title fights scheduled in the Philippines, South Korea and Indonesia.
On October 3 and 4, Panoncillo will oversee two events in Talisay City and Naga City respectively, with five titles on the line involving some of the Philippines' top young prospects.
Then on October 11, the WBO makes its presence felt once again in South Korea with two title bouts taking place in Seoul.
On the same day, another title fight is happening in Jakarta, Indonesia, followed by another title event a week later on Oct. 18 also in Jakarta.
"I am proud to announce that the WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental titles are much sought after now. This is a result of our continued effort to search for the best talents, giving them the right opportunity, plus the support of our WBO President Paco Valcarcel," said Panoncillo in an interview with Philboxing.com in Bangkok, Thailand where he supervised last Friday's event involving Sod Looknokyangtoy defending his WBO Asia Pacific superbantam title against Donriel Marcos of the Philippines.
