DOMINGO BACK IN THE GYM SOON!

CEBU CITY--WBO Oriental bantam king Michael Domingo, fresh off his impressive ninth-round destruction of ex-world champ and WBO no. 3 Ratanachai Sor Vorapin on Sunday, has said that he will only take a week off and will be back in the gym immediately to keep himself in shape for his next fight.
Appearing on the weekly radio show "Pinoy Boxing" over RMN-DyHP on Sunday evening sponsored by Auto Solutions, maker of Sunriser Motorcyles, Domingo also indicated that his manager Michael Aldeguer, who celebrated his birthday yesterday, now wants him to work on the renewal of his American visa for his possible US stint end of this year.
ALA chief trainer Edito Villamor, who also appeared on the top-rating radio show, confirmed that Domingo will renew his visa soon in anticipation of the US fight.
Domingo, a native of Libac, Sultan Kudarat, said that he followed the gameplan prepared for him by his handlers against Vorapin, but that the latter's dirty tactics and experience also gave him fits on a few occasions, including the Vorapin headbutt that cut Domingo in the fifth round.
The win was a fitting birthday gift from Domingo to his youthful manager Michael Aldeguer, who was at ringside for the fight, and accompanied the fighter to the ring during pre-fight introductions.
"Next week, as soon as the bandage of my cut is removed, I will return to the gym," Domingo told "Pinoy Boxing."
