MORE BOXING ACTION ON TV TONIGHT
PhilBoxing.com Sun, 14 Sep 2008
Boxing fans get an extra treat this Sunday as Epic Sports, headed by broadcaster Ed Picson, in cooperation with Gov. Oscar S. Moreno of Misamis Oriental, airs the special telecast of ?Rumble in MisOr2?the Defense? over NBN-4 tonight at 9:15 p.m. right after the Lotto draw.
The 2-hour TV special features a total of 9 fights, headlined by the WBO Asia-Pacific Youth championship defended by hard-hitting Filipino Eusebio Baluarte Jr. against hardy Indonesian challenger Heri Andriyanto in a 10-round brawl.
The undercard fights are sure to fire up the evening spectacular which took place at the swank Atrium of the Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City.
As a special feature, the show will also take the viewer on a trip around the charming and progressive province of Misamis Oriental, which will provide a soothing break from all the slam-bang action. Misamis Oriental is the peaceful gateway to Northern Mindanao.
The event is part of the pro-active sports development program being pushed by Gov. Moreno, who is also currently the chairman of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP). Moreno has supported sports events and athletes not only in his turf, but in other areas as well.
Incidentally, the 21-year old Baluarte hails from Kibawe, Bukidnon, which is Manny Pacquiao?s birthplace.
Picson teams up once again with Quinito Henson for the commentary.
