ALA GYM CHAMPIONS SWEAT OUT AT SM CITY CEBU TODAY PhilBoxing.com Sat, 16 Aug 2008 For any boxing campaign, crowd support is critical for any warrior to accomplish his aims. Win or loss, the warrior owes it to the boxing fans at least for the love they have on the game, and perhaps for the prayers the made for the warrior in quest for ring glory. On this note that ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer announced that ALA Gym champions set to engage in a bloody contest on the August 30th regional championship extravaganza at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino will drop by SM City Cebu today for a public workout at the mall?s Entertainment Plaza. The fight trio will be Philippines? 33rd world champion and ALA Gym?s first, reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) World mini flyweight king Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes, the charismatic and reigning WBO Inter-Continental super bantamweight champion Rey ?Boom-Boom? Bautista, and recently crowned WBO Asia Pacific Youth lightweight champ Jason Pagara. Nietes stands to defend his crown from the claim of Nicaraguan and WBO No. 9 contender Eddy Castro. With his dominion also in question, Bautista is also slated to prove his continued claim for the regional throne. Pagara will guest the tourney, dubbed ?WBO Night of Champions,? as the main event opener in a non-title brawl against Thai prizefighter Kongdej Sithtrajtrakan. After the workout, the boxing fans will be given time to ask no-holds-bar questions to their favorite fighters in a short press and fan conference. Fans can have their photos taken together with the champions if they bring with them their camera. The activity starts at 3:00 PM.
