"Hurricane" Julaton in a storm of a fight!

PhilBoxing.com

History in the making on August 21st at the Tachi Palace Casino and Hotel in Lemoore, California. Freddie Roach's Filipina fighting phenom in her most dangerous fight yet, Bay Area's own Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton (4 wins 1KO-0 lost-1 draw) will be fighting an 8 round battle for the W.B.C. International SuperBantamweight Title Belt against WBC ranked #6 Superfeatherweight Dominga Olivo who represents the Dominican Republic. Olivo is considered to be the best kept secret in female boxing. In her eleven professional fights she has only lost to three people, Undefeated 135lb star Chika Nakamura, WBA Lightweight Champion Laya McCarter (WBC rank #3) and most recently IWBF SuperBantamweight Champion Ela Nunez (WBC rank #2).

?I feel the sport of women?s boxing needs fights like these to be recognized? The 2008 Beijing Olympics began yet again without a female boxing division, so many of us trained to become Olympic medalist?Since that dream was shattered we move on to what?s best for women?s boxing.? Said Julaton. When asked why fight for a title so soon she responded ?Why not?! I spent over three years in the amateurs fighting the best and now with my next performance I get to put women?s boxing in the limelight by proving that there should be Olympic Women?s boxing! I feel that instead of Dominga and I fighting for a belt next Thursday, we should have been on NBC fighting for the Gold medal for our countries?

In her previous fight at the Tachi Palace Casino Julaton gave all her fans a treat by putting on a "Tyson-esque" performance knocking out the opponent Mexican-American Salina Jordan in :37 seconds. Ana is having a "Danica Patrick" like rookie season, currently undefeated she began her Pro career 8 months ago and is already Ranked #12 in the World by the W.B.C. (World Boxing Council) at SuperBantamweight/Jr. Featherweight division, arguably Female boxing's most competitive division. If she can be successful August 21st Ana Julaton will become the 1st Filipino-American ever to win this belt and be the 1st Female American to become the WBC International Champion. Despite her lack of experience in the pro ranks one reason why Ana is willing to take these risks so early in her career is to help promote Women's boxing to have a slot in the 2012 Olympics. Currently it is the only Olympic sport to not have a female division. Ana's original goal was to be a part of the 2008 Olympic team, but the Olympic committee denied inclusion of the sport. Now she is making a difference in the professional ranks by trying to become the 1st Female to win the World Championship in her rookie year. Julaton feels that by going through the ranks quickly, her actions will help prove the quality of women's boxing and be an example why women's boxing should have been included in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Being that she is Freddie Roach's only female fighter most believe Ana will win the World title this year. Help support the "Hurricane" in her quest to become a part of history August 21st at the Tachi Palace Casino and Hotel www.thepalace.net For more details on the Ana Julaton l og on to www.myspace.com/ajthehurricane .
