Two other Thai fighters will also figure on the card titled ?Thrilla in Zamboanga? promoted by Congressman Erbie Fabian to whose stable Canoy belongs and well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani along with Viva Sports. Federico Catubay, the former Philippine flyweight champion takes on Narindeth Sakchatree while undefeated Felix Tanamor faces veteran Samransak Singmanassak in two other exciting matchups. Canoy was reported in terrific condition after training for two months at the famed ALA Gym in Cebu but will have to be at his very best to overcome the challenge of Terdsak Jandaeng who has a record of 29-3 with 19 knockouts compared to Canoy?s undefeated record of 8-0-1 with 5 knockouts. Catubay?s clash with Narindeth Sakchatree will be at 117 pounds and is scheduled for eight rounds. Catubay has a record of 21-14-3 with 11 knockouts while the Thai fighter has a record of 17-2-3 with 8 knockouts. Tanamor who is related to the Philippines lone boxer in next month?s Beijing Olympic Games Harry Tanamor, has won all his six fights while Samransak is a well-traveled veteran with a record of 33-19-1 with 26 knockouts. In a first for Zamboanga, the three major fights will be beamed "live" to Thailand. The fights will be also telecast in the weeks ahead on Viva Sports top-rated boxing show ?The Main Event? on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. over IBC 13, sponsored by Tanduay, the No.1 Rhum, PAGCOR and PCSO. The Zamboanga fight card follows hours after the blockbuster WBA interim super flyweight title fight between AJ "Bazooka" Banal and Panama's Rafael "El Torito" Concepcion at the Cebu Coliseum one week after WBO Oriental super bantamweight champion Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales successfully defended his title in an action-packed bout against Thai challenger Norongnoi Or Muangklang.
