The New Generation Boxers INTRODUCING: BALWEG BANGOYAN
PhilBoxing.com Mon, 07 Jul 2008

The southern island of Mindanao has been dubbed as 'The Land of Promise', this holds true even in the sport of boxing. Even if it has already produced the greatest Filipino boxer of all time in Manny Pacquiao, in Mindanao one will still find undiscovered, promising and rising professional boxers who have hoped and dreamed to become world champions someday.
One of them is Balweg Bangoyan, a hot prospect from Davao del Sur who fights under the stable of Mayor Zander Kahn of Jose Abad Santos Town. Bangoyan will try to break into the limelight when he showcases his boxing prowess in the undercard of the 'Collision at the Coliseum' headlined by Ranee Ganoy, Ciso Morales and Bert Batawang at the Cebu Coliseum on July 19.
Balweg Bangoyan.
Bangoyan parades an impressive undefeated record of 11 wins with 7 knockouts** and he is the current Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) Jr. Featherweight Champion. He captured the vacant PBF title against Elpher Paganpan on Nov. 14, 2007 at the Mall of Asia in Manila and had since defended it twice against veterans Jun Pader and Roberto Dalisay.
On July 19, Bangoyan will once again defend his title against Phil Angcamor of Cagayan de Oro City in what his promoter, SGG Sports Promotion, is expecting to be another impressive performance by the Davaoeno.
'Collision at the Coliseum' is being presented by SGG Sports Promotion in cooperation with Viva Sports, Tanduay Rhum and Pioneer Elasto Seal. Ticket prices are pegged at P300 (Ringside), P200 (Lower Box) and P100 (Upper Box).
** Note: Bangoyan's BoxRec's record does not carry his earlier fights and has yet to be updated.
