Atty. Aldwin Alegre is set to compete in the 23rd Bangkok Chess Club Open 2026 to be held at the Luxurious Sheraton Hua Hin Resort and Spa, Thailand from April 11-19, 2026.

"Chess has been my passion ever since I was a kid," said Atty. Aldwin Alegre, a former varsity chess player at Emilio Aguinaldo College Manila during his College days.
Atty. Alegre is a certified FIDE Master who is also the CEO/President of AQ Prime. He is also the Deputy Commissioner of the Bureau of Immigration.
Atty. Alegre is also actively promoting chess in the grass roots level by organizing and sponsoring AQ Prime FIDE rated open chess tournaments. He is also put up with AQ Prime Chess Talents which aims to help chess players to reach their main goal, to become champion and chess master.
Among the members of AQ Prime Chess Talents are Woman International Master Marie Antoinette San Diego, FIDE Master Christian Mark Daluz, National Master Al Basher "Basty" Buto, John Randall Peralta and Maurice Constante. (Marlon Bernardino)
