Nonito Donaire Favorite to Beat Andrés Campos for WBA Interim World Title; Both Men Make Weight Ready in Argentina!

PhilBoxing.com

Fans of Nonito Donaire get ready for the “Filipino Flash” Rumble!

This Saturday, June 14 (Sunday morning here in the Philippines), at the Casino Buenos Aires in Argentina, Filipino icon Nonito Donaire will fight Chilean contender Andrés Campos for the interim WBA Bantamweight World Title!

Promoted by Boxeo de Primera and Sampson Lewkowicz, the electrifying clash is part of the ongoing WBA Fedelatin Convention, aired LIVE in Latin America on TyC Sports.

The Filipino Flash is Favorite 🇵🇭

At 42 years young, Donaire is a seasoned veteran with a storied career, having held multiple division titles and clashed with boxing greats like Naoya Inoue and Omar Narváez.

His wealth of experience and devastating punching power make him the favorite to win.

After a nearly two-year layoff, Donaire is looking to make a triumphant return to the ring, seeking redemption after consecutive losses for the first time in his illustrious career.

The Chilean Challenger

Andrés Campos, 28, from super beautiful Santiago de Chile, brings to the mess a record of 17-2-1 with only 6 KOs.

Having competed primarily in the flyweight and super flyweight divisions, Andres Campos is now moving up to bantamweight to challenge Donaire.

It’s gonna be tough for him because Nonito is a real bantamweight who can punch, while Andrés not so much, diba?

Worrisome. Andrés comes off a string of inconsistent results since losing a unanimous decision to Sunny Edwards back in June 2023.

Campos has secured a couple of knockout wins, albeit in the super flyweight division. But this is bantamweight! Still, he is looking to cause an upset in his new weight class.

The Stage is Set

Both, Nonito and Andrés easily passed the test of the scale at the official weigh-in with Donaire tipping the scales at 117.9 pounds, and Campos registering a precise 118 pounds.

As the fighters fine-tune their preparations, the stage is set for an unforgettable showdown this Saturday night in the Land of Leo Messi, Argentina!

Will Donaire's experience and power prove too much for Campos?

Or will the Chilean fighter pull off a stunning upset?

Fans in social media feel that the more-skilled and experienced Nonito Donaire should easily win vía TKO.

But let’s find out. Fans will be watching!! May the Best Man Win!!
