New York Finally Wins One, On the Road; Comes Back to Defeat Indiana, 106-100 By Teodoro Medina Reynoso PhilBoxing.com Mon, 26 May 2025 ![]() Unable to do it twice at home, the New York Knicks finally got a win - on the road - coming back from 20 points down to beat Indiana Pacers, 106-100 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena in Indianapolis. The Eastern Conference Finals is now 2-1 still in favor of the Pacers. Karl Anthony Towns poured 20 of his team leading 24 points in the fourth quarter to power the Knicks to victory even as Josh Hart assured the win with a crucial rebound and two penalty shots as the Pacers were scrambling for points in the dying seconds. The Pacers proved true to their inability to win a game three for the third time in the current playoffs, squandering leads as high as 20 points and committing successive offensive fouls near the end of third quarter which the Knicks turned to points. With Jalen Brunson unable to get his game going and hobbled by fouls and Towns limited to just four points in the first three quarters, Indiana looked headed for a comfortable win on steals leading to uncontested breakaway dunks by Obi Toppin. From a slim 30-26 lead in the first quarter, the Pacers limited the Knicks to just nine points while reeling off 25 points for a 55-35 lead midway the second quarter. But New York fought back fiercely and pare down the lead to 58-45 by half time. But the Knicks still managed to limit the Pacers offensive with coach Tom Thibodeau utilizing the big pair of Towns and Mitchell Robinson oftentimes at the cost of sitting down Hart. On the other hand, New York kept on chipping away at the Pacers' double digit leads through the sniping of Brunson, Miles McBride, OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges. The Pacers were still enjoying double digits leads in the third quarter but their points production was beginning to be limited resulting to just 80-70 margin by end of the period. Then came the 20 points explosion from Towns that carried the Knicks to a big 36-20 wind up in the final period which won the game for New York. With the Knicks holding a 104-100 lead on Brunson charities, Paskal Siakam went for desperation triple but missed. From almost out of nowhere Hart sailed to frustrate the Pacers bid for offensive rebounds, snatching the ball and getting fouled in the process. Hart hit two charities to make it 106-100 barely ticks left. Towns towed New York with 24 points and 15 rebounds getting support from Brunson (23) Anunoby (16) and Bridges (15). Hart had 8 points and 10 rebounds. Haliburton topped for Indiana with 19 points followed by Turner with 19 points and Siakam with 17 Game four is scheduled for Tuesday (Wednesday Manila time) also in Indianapolis.
