CANOY WANTS LUEVANO!

Filipino Eric Canoy, preparing for an important bout against Thailand's Terdsak Jandaeng on July 27 in Zamboanga City, says that facing WBO featherweight champ Steven Luevano would be a dream fight, and would be happy to one day cross paths with the champion.
Canoy, who once beat Thailand's Olympic gold medallist Somluck Kamsing, is currently training at the famed ALA Gym for his battle with Jandaeng.
The stylish fighter, who fights out of the Blue Stallion Promotions of Congressman Erbie Fabian, has been sparring against the likes of Gil Melligen, Pedro Malco, and Flash Intor in preparation for Jandaeng.
"We would like to face Luevano," said Fabian in a long-distance interview from Las Vegas where he watched Luevano barely retain his title with a draw against Puerto Rican Mario Santiago in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-David Diaz battle.
The Thai Jandaeng, who is promoted by the Kokiet Group, is training in Chiang Mai, Thailand under Filipino trainer Jojo 'Pogi' Palacios, and has been sparring against ex-WBA champ Somsak Sithchachawal, Decho Bankluaygym, and Pramuansak Phosuwan.
