PhilBoxing.com Tue, 24 Jun 2008

WORLD rated fighter Jimrex Jaca topbills three other Filipinos seeing action in a June 27 boxing promotion presented by Australian Daniel Potter in Pattaya, Thailand.
Jaca, fighting out of the Wakee Salud stable, slugs it out with Thai prospect Yodsanan Sor Nanthachai in a 10-round lightweight bout.
The 25-year-old Jaca carries a ring record of 28-4-3, 13 of them by way of knockout, and whose credentials include going 9 solid rounds against former two-time world champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
Yodsanan meanwhile is a veteran of 55 fights, with 3 losses, one draw and 44 knockouts.
The Cebuano native is the latest Filipino prospect now being promoted by Potter, an Australian businessman reaching out to help local boxers get worldwide recognition through his Asia Boxing Promotions. Aside from Jaca, also under Potter?s promotion are JR Sollano, former RP champion Dodie Boy Agrabio and upcoming Ariel Barotillo.
Sollano will take on Thai Sadam Kietyungyut in the same Pattaya fight card in a 12-round match for the World Boxing Council (WBC) ABCO lightweight belt, while Agrabio, the one-time Philippine super-featherweight king, battles another Thai in Yokklow Poonsawat in a 6-rounder.
Barotillo is the brother of Australian-based Filipino and former world title contender Arnel. Up against a Japanese opponent, Ariel was once a champion amateur boxer in South Wales with a record of 19-1, including 18 inside the distance.
