O’REILLY AUTO PARTS BACK THREE BLOCKBUSTER FIGHT NIGHTS

PhilBoxing.com

Automotive giants support shows in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Arizona

Eddie Hearn and Matchroom are delighted to welcome O’Reilly Auto Parts as a partner for three huge fights nights – Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez vs. Daniel Lugo in Aguascalientes, Mexico on Saturday May 11, the spectacular homecoming night for IBF World Super-Lightweight champion Subriel Matias, as he defends his strap against Australia’s Liam Paro in Manati, Puerto Rico on June 15, and the blockbuster WBC and Ring Magazine World Super-Flyweight battle between Juan Francisco Estrada and Jesse Rodriguez in Phoenix, Arizona on June 29 – all live worldwide on DAZN.

O’Reilly Auto Parts has been a prominent supporter of boxing for many years, backing some of the biggest bouts in the sport, including the Canelo-GGG trilogy, and they will add three more nights of huge action to that catalogue.
First up, Hernandez (34-2 31 KOs) was part of one of the fights of the year in October when he took on O’Shaquie Foster for the WBC World Super-Featherweight title, falling agonizingly short in Cancun after an incredible 11th round led to a final round stoppage win for defending champion Foster, with Hernandez ahead on the cards.

The 26 year old will be determined to return to winning ways as he plots a path towards another shot at World honors, but Lugo (27-2-1 18 KOs) has his own plans to gatecrash the party at 130lbs, and facing Rocky in an all-Mexican battle over 12 rounds live on DAZN represents the biggest night of the 29 year old’s career.

Attention then switches to Puerto Rico as one of the most exciting fighters in the sport fights on home territory for the first time as a World champion, as Matias puts his title on the line for the second time in a hotly anticipated clash that marks his return to fighting in his homeland for the first time since November 2019, a 12th fight at home and the most important so far for the fearsome puncher who is eager to put on a show and move towards unification battles.

Paro is looking to spoil the party and the Australian challenger has no fear in entering enemy territory to do so in his first World title fight. The 27 year old was at his spiteful best in his last outing, flooring Montana Love twice in a six-round bludgeoning in San Francisco in December.

The third fight night backed by O’Reilly Auto Parts promises to be one of the fights of the year, as Estrada steps back through the ropes to defend the title for the first time after beating old foe Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez in the third installment of their epic trilogy in December 2022, a thrilling encounter he edged via majority decision in front of a packed crowd in Glendale, Arizona.

Rodriguez had his own epic night in the arena 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix venue that he’ll face ‘Gallo’, when he unified at Flyweight by stopping Sunny Edwards in the ninth round of a stunning performance in December.

“We are delighted to have O’Reilly Auto Parts on board for the biggest fight of the year,” said Hearn. “They have been huge supporters of our sport, and it’s great to have them onboard for what promises to be three great nights.”

“We’re excited to once again partner with Matchroom on these exciting fights in Phoenix, Arizona, Aguascalientes, Mexico and Manati, Puerto Rico,” said Hugo Sanchez, vice president of O’Reilly Marketing and Advertising.

“These events are a great way for us to share our brand – especially in our newest markets, Mexico and Puerto Rico. We’re looking forward to bringing everyone the best customer service in the auto parts industry, along with some of the most exciting bouts of the season.”
