Rakius Dental Care Chess Team A are kings of Magayon Chess Festival 2024 Tatluhan Team Tournament

Manila---Rakius Dental Care Chess Team A ruled the Magayon Chess Festival 2024 Tatluhan Team Tournament on Saturday, May 4, at the Albay Provincial Capitol in Legazpi City, Albay.
Virgen Gil Ruaya led the Rakius Dental Care Chess Team A to the championship as the Dr. James Emerson Orfanel-backed squad also featured Recarte Tiauson and Paul Sanchez.
Rakius Dental Care Chess Team A finished with five wins and a draw to rule the 28-team meet. They receive P25,000 for their efforts.
"With experience on their side, the Rakius Dental Care Chess Team A topped the Magayon Chess Festival 2024 Tatluhan Team Tournament last Saturday," said team manager Dr. James Emerson Orfanel.
Rakius Dental Care Chess Team A defeated Governor Grex Lagman Team B, 2-1, in the first round, Sta. Rosa Lions 2.5-0.5, in the second round, Governor Grex Lagman Team A, 3-0, in the third round, King's Gambit Part 2, 2-1, in the fourth round and Naga Masbate City, 2-1, in the sixth and final round.
They split the points with University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, 1.5-1.5, in the fifth and penultimate round.
The Six Round Swiss System, Match Points System, 15 minutes plus 3 seconds Rapid time control format organized by Provincial Capitol of Albay.
King's Gambit Part 2, finished second followed by third placers University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.-Marlon Bernardino-
