CONDES RELAXED AND CONFIDENT

PhilBoxing.com

IBF minimumweight champ Florante Condes of the Philippines is relaxed, highly confident and had impressed a lot of Mexicans two days before taking on local challenger Raul 'Rayito' Garcia Saturday night in La Paz, Baja California Sur, in Mexico, according to Condes' Puerto Rican manager Dante Ortiz who relayed the news to PhilBoxing.com.

Early Thursday morning in La Paz, in the middle of a beautiful weather, Condes ran for 40 minutes without let up and immediately did 15 minutes of shadow boxing without showing any signs of fatigue. "We are highly confident that during the day of the fight, Condes will be in a superb condition," Ortiz said.

At 8:30 in the morning, Condes met with his challenger 'Rayito' Garcia in a local radio station to promote the fight where Condes had a chance to size up his opponent physically. "On our way out from the studio, Condes had confided to me that he felt Garcia couldn't beat him," Ortiz said.

Before doing his afternoon training at the Gimnacio Auditorio, Condes and his team went to church at the Nuestra Senora de la Paz Cathedral where the parish priest, Fr. Francisco Rodriquez Ordaz, welcomed Condes and gave his blessings to the Filipino champion and promised to watch the fight on Saturday with another priest.

More than forty people were waiting when Team Condes arrived at the Gimnacio Auditorio eager to watch the diminutive champ nicknamed 'El Pequeno Pacquiao' does his workout. Showing power with both hands, great hand speed and good movement, Condes wowed the crowd and "converted more than a few on his side." Ortiz said that "many of the fans were so impressed on Condes that they openly told me that they will root for Condes come fight night."

Prior for today's weighin, Condes has already reached the required weight limit of 105 lbs. Both boxers will wear the Cleto Reyes punchers gloves which is seen as highly favorable to Condes because this will not negate his punching power in any way.

Ortiz said he is looking forward for an early stoppage win by Condes come Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila).
