20 Matchups Set for 2026 Final X, presented by Kerberos Capital Management, To Determine 2026 USA Wrestling World Championship Teams

PhilBoxing.com

The field is set for USA Wrestling’s flagship Senior-level event, 2026 Final X, presented by Kerberos Capital Management, on Friday, June 19 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, alongside the 2026 Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit.

Final X will determine the 2026 U.S. Senior World Championship Team in two-of-three international disciplines — men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle. In total, 20 weight classes will be contested, 10 in each discipline. The top two U.S. athletes in each weight class will wrestle a best-of-three series at Final X to determine the U.S. representative for the 2026 Senior World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Final X lineup is highlighted by Olympic champions Kyle Snyder and Helen Maroulis (2016), and Amit Elor (2024). Snyder and Maroulis are also both four-time World champions, including last year. Additionally, Snyder holds a 2020 Olympic silver medal, and Maroulis has two Olympic bronze medals (2020, 2024). Elor, who is also a two-time World champion, qualified for Final X just three months after giving birth to her son.

Fellow reigning World champions Zahid Valencia and Trent Hidlay are also set to compete again at Final X. Valencia is slated for a 2025 Final X rematch against four-time World champion and two-time Olympic bronze medalist Kyle Dake, who is among the eight 2026 U.S. Open champions to square off against 2025 Senior World medalists at Final X. Real Woods, Levi Haines, Kennedy Blades and Kylie Welker are the four other reigning World medalists on the card. Blades is also a 2024 Olympic silver medalist, and Welker has two World bronze medals. Reigning Final X champion and 2024 Olympic silver medalist Spencer Lee will return to Prudential Center. After a one-year break following the 2024 Olympics, 2023 World champion Zain Retherford will continue his return to competition at Final X.

Two-time World medalist and Willingboro, New Jersey native James Green (74 kg) will return to the Garden State. Two-time Olympian and two-time World silver medalist Kayla Miracle headlines the U.S. Open women’s freestyle champions in the field. Two-time World medalist Macey Kilty, and 2023 World bronze medalists Mason Parris and Jennifer Page round out the list of World medalists on the card.

Ten more past U.S. Senior World Team members qualified for Final X: Jax Forrest, David Carr, Chance Marsteller and Wyatt Hendrickson in men’s freestyle; and Cristelle Rodriguez, Areana Villaescusa, Abigail Nette, Adaugo Nwachukwu, Alexandria Glaude and Dymond Guilford in women’s freestyle.

Final X will feature two mats elevated on a stage from the arena floor. Men’s freestyle will run on Mat 1, located on the south end of the arena in front of sections 13 and 14. Women’s freestyle will run on Mat 2, located on the north end of the arena in front of sections 2 and 3.

The matchup order will be announced at a later date.

True-Third Matches
Prior to the Final X championship series, there will be 10 true-third matches – six in men’s freestyle and four in women’s freestyle – to determine the No. 3 athlete on the U.S National Team for the 2026-27 season. The winner of each true-third match is eligible for the U.S. National Team support that includes funding, plus training and competition opportunities.

The men’s freestyle true-third matches are headlined by two-time Senior Pan American champion and Towaco, New Jersey native Joey McKenna against 2021 U20 World bronze medalist Beau Bartlett, a Beat the Streets New York coach. Additional notable names in action include NCAA champions Landon Robideau, Caleb Henson and Parker Keckeisen.

Past Senior World Team members Felicity Taylor and Emma Bruntil highlight the women’s freestyle athletes.

Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit
Final X will serve as the 2026 Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit, its 16th to date. These unique electrifying events help BTSNY raise critical funds each year to support local youth wrestling programs, which empower young people in New York City. The BTSNY Annual Benefit after-party takes place at the conclusion of Final X.
