Rementizo Ravages Foe, Scores Thrilling Round 2 KO Win in Thailand

PhilBoxing.com

BANGKOK, Thailand — Filipino WBC #12 Light Flyweight Marco John Rementizo (15-4, 12 KO’s) reaffirmed his world-class status by dropping and browning out in two rounds Thai warrior Jinnawat Rienpit Thursday August 31, at the elegant Spaceplus Night Club, RCA Plaza, in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand, live on MVTV.

Rementizo, who came into battle at 50.9 kilos, took the first round of action to jab, study, land some combos while figuring out his taller, fearless opponent, a young man of combat who is also a Muay Thai warrior.

Intensity really heated up for the 2nd frame with the faster, more powerful Cagayan de Oro boy – wearing bright navy blue trunks – coming forward at his opponent, landing on him with damaging right hooks and left uppercuts.

Rementizo pushes Rienpit into the ropes.

Those bombs, rocked Jinnawat while he was against the ropes, forcing the brave Thai into retrieval mode in an attempt to get away from heavy fire.

As Rementizo pursued him across the ring, a huge, perfectly-timed right hook thrown by the Pinoy landed crushingly on the left side of Jinnawar’s jaw, immediately short-circuiting him into brown out.

It made the tough Thai land on the canvas face first unconscious at the 41 second mark in chapter 2.

Thankfully, Jinnawat regained consciousness seconds later helped by ring physician Dr. Jirasak and the assistance of promoter Brico Santig who rushed up into the ring carrying a green oxygen tank to provide much needed oxygen into the fallen boxer.

The examines the fallen Jinnawat Rienpit after being dropped unconscious by Marco Rementizo in Thailand Thursday night.

Thanks be to God, the strong Jinnawat quickly recovered, getting back into this reality, eventually getting down from the hot ring slowly, in his own power.

With the thrilling and devastating knock out victory, Rementizo – who is the reigning WBC Asia light flyweight champion – is likely to climb up higher in the WBC 108 ranking.

That is awesome for him as his dream is to one day challenge Japanese unified WBC/WBA world champion “The Amazing Boy” Kenshiro Teraji (21-1, 13 KO’s).

Rementizo registers a thrilling victory in Thailand.

Interestingly, Kenshiro, 31, will be defending his belts against South African veteran, former champ Hekkie Budler on September 18 in Tokyo.

Should Kenshiro emerge victorious – as so many fans think he will – Rementizo would love to put his name on the hat, being more than willing to be considered as Kenshiro’s next challenger.

Only God knows if that would happen, although hopefully yes.

The exciting international 7-bout show at the starry SpacePlus Bangkok was another successful promotion of Brico Santig and Supanat Chanram of Highland Boxing Promotions.
