Manny Pacquiao, GAB Chairman Richard Clarin Discuss Ways to Push Forward Filipino Boxing PhilBoxing.com Mon, 27 Feb 2023 Beloved Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao was more than happy to welcome GAB Chairman Atty. Richard Clarin and his team to his home in General Santos City on Sunday, February 26, the important occasion unfolding in the most cordial, positive manner. The intended goal was for Clarin and Pacquiao to meet on further plans to support Filipino boxers. In that regard, the two leaders discussed about the current situation of boxing in the Philippines, as well as ways to move forward with the popular sport, while caring for boxers and members of the Filipino boxing family. Richard Clarin's administration has already made fantastic progress, reaching agreements with top pharmaceutical companies to provide branded vitamins to all boxers in the nation. Additional supplements are to be provided to those fighters with impending boxing events, especially the ones training to battle in title fights. On top of these, the GAB Chairman was able to tap the private sector to give discounts to boxers in selected hotels, restaurants, medical facilities and other services. Furthermore, thanks to chairman Clarin, now some private businesses are willing to provide free use of gyms to boxers and other athletes. During Clarin's visit, the ever popular "Pacman" gave the GAB Chairman a black and golden "Pacquiao 8 division world champion," and also gave Clarin the meaningful gift of a pair of signed golden color Golden Herrera boxing gloves "Manny Pacman Pacquiao Greatest of All Time." Very specially, the gloves given to Clarin have been inscribed with the verse from the Holy Bible's Philippians 4:13. The verse says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” - Philippians 4:13 A devout Christian and a legend in the sport of boxing regarded by many as the greatest of all time, Pacquiao was a candidate to the presidency of the Philippines in the country's last elections. Pacman retired from active boxing, but holds exhibition matches around the world. He has served as a Senator from 2016 to 2022. Richard Clarin is the chairman of the Games and Amusement board overseeing boxing in the Philippines. He is an experienced lawyer, specializing in aviation, manufacturing and real estate industries. He studied sociology and went on to graduate with honors with a juris doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University. The two men share the same commitment to serve the Filipino boxing family. |
