PRESCO “The Iceman” Carcosia is the new Philippine Boxing Federation super featherweight champion after beating Arnel Baconaje via unanimous decision last night at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City.
The 26-year-old Carcosia dominated the 10-round fight.
Carcosia now has 11 wins with nine knockouts, two loses and one draw while Baconaje suffered his 7th loss against 15 wins.
“Thank you for my family, my Tita Marivic Roquia for giving my needs in training and also to my love Mich Balabat,” said Carcosia.
Meanwhile, Judy “Sniper” Flores of Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte continued his winning ways by a crushing former WBC International light flyweight champion Jonathan “Lightning” Taconing of Zamboanga del Norte in the supporting bout.
The 24-year-old Flores, who posted his 12th win against one loss, avenged the early loss by teammate Vince Paras by a unanimous decision to Taconing for the WBC International light flyweight title in 2018.
The other results:
Jerven Mama of Gensan scored a split decision win against Ruben Dadivas of Davao City; Kenneth Egano knocked out Jegear Bereno in the 2nd round; Bryl Bayogos stopprf Albert Parilla in the 6th round.
